More Innovative Shops and Restaurants Coming to Terminal 4
New additions add to the already exciting lineup of options

PHOENIX – Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s Eighth Concourse at Terminal 4 recently celebrated the opening of an assortment of new restaurants from Bobby’s Burgers to Pedal Haus Brewery and more. But America’s Friendliest Airport® isn’t done. Yesterday, Phoenix City Council approved the recommended proposals for the second phase of new concessions on the Airport’s new concourse.

“It’s so exciting to see our Airport showcasing beloved local concepts and nationally-recognized brands,” said Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. “America’s Friendliest Airport truly is America’s Tastiest Airport with the abundance of offerings travelers will find in the Airport terminals. It’s rewarding to be able to create opportunities for local and small businesses to come together and succeed.”

These new shops and restaurants align with Phoenix Sky Harbor’s goal of providing a mix of national and local brands for Phoenix passengers.

The Food and Beverage Concessions Phase II Package has been awarded to PHX S1 Restaurant Partners, LLC. (PHX S1) which is a partnership of concessionaires HMSHost, Kind Hospitality, and TMG Services, Inc. As part of this package, two new restaurants will open. One will be Guy Fieri’s Phoenix Kitchen + Bar which will feature the notable chef’s American dishes like burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and more. The second restaurant will be SanTan Spirit House which is a concept from the locally beloved SanTan Brewing Company. This bar will offer a variety of sharable food items and unique spirits. The company currently has a location in Terminal 3, which is a fan favorite among travelers.

Also approved is an agreement with Paradies Lagardère which will bring in two new stores to the Eighth Concourse. Shoppers will be delighted for the future Fan Shop by PGA TOUR featuring apparel and accessories for fans of golf and fashion. And, travelers will also be able to try out a golf simulator – a first for the airport. Passengers will have the opportunity to try their luck at the famous 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale – a favorite of attendees at the annual WM Phoenix Open. Additionally, travelers will also be able to find many locally made products including Arizona wine and olive oil at the new Arizona Roadtrip store. This concept will also feature a kids’ zone with activities.

(NASDAQ: BKNG), revealed the Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2019, according to OpenTable diners. From one-of-a-kind dining experiences to local favorites, the list highlights top restaurants across the country based on verified reviews submitted by diners. The annual list comes off the heels of OpenTable’s recent year end dining report, a retrospective look back at this year’s most popular dining trends.

Whether it’s the outstanding menu inspired by the Pacific Northwest at Birdsong in San Francisco or Girl & the Goat in Chicago, the list illustrates the best restaurants in the U.S., as voted by OpenTable diners, and showcases the platform’s extensive network of dining options for every occasion.

“Whether a restaurant has received national accolades or is built on local fanfare, our Top 100 reflects diners’ favorite culinary experiences across the country,” said Andrea Johnston, COO at OpenTable. “What ultimately ties these restaurants together is their excellent hospitality paired with incredible dishes, which is why diners are applauding them with rave reviews.”

California took second place last year, but in 2019, the Golden State rose to number one with 22 restaurants featured. Florida, New York and Pennsylvania tied for second place with seven restaurants each, and Illinois followed closely behind with six winners. Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, D.C. boasted four honorees each. Additional states include Alabama, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Similar to last year, American and Italian cuisine dominated the list; however, this year French cuisine proved to be a new favorite. Other global cuisines were represented on the list, such as Japanese, Latin American, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern, showcasing a growing appetite for more diverse and globally-inspired flavors.

OpenTable’s list of the Top 100 Restaurants for 2019 in the U.S. is generated from diner reviews collected between October 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019. All restaurants that have been part of the OpenTable network for at least the last 12 consecutive months with a minimum overall rating and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to an overall score generated by unique data points, such as overall diner rating, user klout, total number of reviews and regional overall rating.
