2013 Council Runoff Election

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, the city of Phoenix will conduct a scheduled Runoff Election in which city voters in Districts 4 and 8 will elect a council member. This election is required by the City Charter because no candidate for these offices received a majority of the votes cast for the office in the August Election. Maricopa County also will be conducting a special election for multiple school districts within the city of Phoenix on Tuesday, Nov. 5. There will be separate ballots for the two elections. Voters may vote by mail, or at the polls, in either election. Voting at the Polls County/School District Election: The school district election conducted by Maricopa County will be a traditional polling place election, not a Voting Center election. Voters who go to the polls to cast a ballot will be required to go to the one designated polling place for the precinct where they reside. The polling places for the school district election will only be open on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will not be the same locations as the city’s Voting Centers. Refer to the information provided by Maricopa County or the school district for polling place locations. City Election: The city of Phoenix election will be a Voting Center election. City voters in Districts 4 or 8 may vote in the City election in person at any of the 11 voting centers. The voting centers for this election will be open for three days. Any city voter residing in Districts 4 or 8 can use any one of the 11 voting centers to cast a ballot.
