Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) March 23, 2014
Please join the Arizona Foundation for Women and other prominent Arizona women’s organizations on the Arizona Capitol Lawn for the 2014 Equal Pay for Equal Work Bake Sale. Cookies will be prepared by an Arizona, female-owned bakery and will be “sold” in proportion to pay inequity. In 2014, women in Arizona earn 82¢ for every $1 a man earns in the same job for the same work. In 2013, that number was 85¢. We lost ground.
We offer this Bake Sale to demonstrate the simple truth: women and paid less than men for the same work. If you want to learn more about Arizona’s investments in women and children, read our co-sponsored Report on the Status of Women on our website at http://www.azfw.org. More information is also available at http://www.aauw.org for “The Simple Truth.”
Media is invited to this important event. For more information, call the Arizona Foundation for Women at 602-532-2800. If you’d like to make a contribution to the Foundation, please visit us online at http://www.azfw.org or call 602-532-2800 today.
