Save this date and save a life: October 27, 2014.

The Arizona Foundation for Women is doing something about it. Join Arizona Foundation for Women on October 27, 2014 at the Arizona Biltmore for "The Faces of Domestic Violence," a series of fundraising events demonstrating the importance of prevention, awareness, education, and advocacy. "Save this date and save a life: October 27, 2014. Tickets are on sale now, and we expect a sold out event! You won't want to miss this opportunity to make a difference to Arizona's women and children," states Sara Presler, CEO, of the Arizona Foundation for Women.

Domestic violence is a pattern of coercive control where one partner controls uses their power to control the other partner. This can take the form of physical, financial, sexual, and emotional abuse. These abuses impact Arizona's women and children every single day. Young boys who experience domestic violence are twice as likely as their peers to commit domestic violence when they grow up to be adults. Domestic violence is one of the most underreported crimes in the United States and it is estimated that only 25% of these crimes are reported. Almost half of the perpetrators that commit intimate partner violence also abuse children in the home. We also know that 85% of victims of domestic violence are women.

Arizona Foundation for Women is doing something about these statistics and creating a better life for Arizona's women and children. AFW focuses on Safety, Health, and Economic Empowerment. We believe SHE Counts! Through research, grant making, and awareness events, we engage the public and serve Arizona's women and children. We invest in the most innovative programs that address the unmet needs of Arizona's women and children.

If you want to create positive change in Arizona, join the Arizona Foundation for Women on October 27, 2014. You can make a difference.
