Did you know that immunization is the single most important way parents can protect their children against serious disease? That’s why Phoenix firefighters want to help parents by offering these vaccinations for FREE for those who don’t have insurance or who are underinsured. It’s all part of the Phoenix Fire Department’s “Baby Shots” program. Vaccinations will be given to protect children against 15 serious childhood diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Haemophilus Influenza Type B, Pneumococcus, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rotavirus, Meningococcal Disease, Human Papaloma Virus, and Varicella. Children from six weeks to 18 years old are eligible for the FREE vaccinations. The vaccination clinic is being held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Deer Valley Community Center, 2001 W. Wahalla Lane.
