Phoenix Sister Cities – Calgary Committee Announces Veterans’ and Remembrance Day Charity Pancake Breakfast

Sep. 11, 2015 Phoenix Sister Cities Calgary Committee and the Valley Welcome Alliance have announced that they will be holding a pancake breakfast from 6 – 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11 to honor U.S. and Canadian veterans. There will be a free pancake breakfast for all U.S. and Canadian veterans present at Phoenix’s Deer Valley Airport, 702 W. Deer Valley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, on the morning of Nov. 11, which is Veterans’ Day in the U.S., and Remembrance Day in Canada. “This will be a unique Veterans’ Day event to recognize the defense partner alliance of the U.S. and Canada, to honor those who have served, and to raise awareness of the sister cities relationship between Phoenix and Calgary,” said Phoenix Sister Cities – Calgary Committee Member Sally Taylor. “There is a large number of Canadian veterans who are in the Phoenix area on Remembrance Day and we want to make sure that their service is remembered alongside U.S. military veterans.” All U.S. and Canadian veterans are invited to enjoy a free breakfast. The event is also open to the public who is anyone who wants to help support our veterans and enjoy a pancake breakfast for $10 per person. There will be commemorative presentations and veterans’ charities on hand with resources and services for veterans. All proceeds will be used for the event and to provide contributions to national and local charities that serve veterans in both Phoenix and Calgary.
