Feb. 13 Last Day to Register to Vote in Runoff Election For Council District 3

Feb. 6, 2017 Monday, Feb. 13 is the last date to register to vote in the March 14 Runoff Election for the Council District 3 council member. This election is required by the City Charter because no candidate for this office received a majority of the votes in the November 2016 Special Council Election. The candidates are Christopher M. DeRose and Debra Stark. The runoff election is open to Phoenix residents who are registered voters and reside within Council District 3 at least 29 days prior to the election. City voters on the permanent early voting list will automatically receive an early ballot by mail unless they submitted a request to not receive a ballot by mail. Voters who are not on the permanent early voting list can also vote by mail by requesting an early ballot from the City of Phoenix no later than Friday, March 3. Voters can request an early ballot or check their early ballot status online or by contacting City of Phoenix Elections at 602-261-8683 (VOTE). In-person early voting also will be available on the 15th floor of Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St., for this election from Wednesday Feb. 15 to Friday, March 10. Voter registration forms are available at most libraries and government facilities, including the 15th floor of Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St. Voting centers will be used for this election. For voting convenience, the voting centers will be open on Saturday, March 11; and continue on Monday March 13 and Tuesday March 14 (Election Day). Voting centers will be open March 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; March 13 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and March 14 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. A list and map of the voting centers is available online at phoenix.gov/elections and in the Sample Ballot Pamphlet mailed to each resident’s address in District 3 where there is a registered voter unless all voters in the household requested to obtain the Pamphlet electronically.
