Purpose On Tuesday, March 14, 2017, the City of Phoenix will conduct a Runoff Election in which registered voters residing in the City of Phoenix, Council District 3 will elect a Council member to serve the remainder of a term that expires Jan. 2, 2020. This election is required by the Phoenix City Charter because no candidate for this office received a majority of the votes cast in the Special Council Election held on Nov. 8, 2016. Voters who are not on the permanent early voting list can also vote by mail by requesting an early ballot from the City of Phoenix no later than Friday, March 3, 2017. Voters can request an early ballot or check their early ballot status online or by contacting City of Phoenix Elections at 602-261-8683 (VOTE)​. In-person early voting will also be available on the 15th floor of Phoenix City Hall for this election from Wednesday Feb. 15, 2017 to Friday, March 10, 2017. Voting Centers The City of Phoenix Runoff Election will be a Voting Center election. City voters in District 3 may vote in person at any one of the 6 voting centers that will be used for this election.
