City of Phoenix Christmas and New Year’s Day Holiday Notice

Dec. 18, 2019
City of Phoenix offices will close at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and will be closed all day on Wednesday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday. City offices will also be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, in observance of New Year’s Day. Here’s how city services are affected:

Solid Waste: Trash and recycling collection for Dec. 24 will remain unchanged. There will be no trash and recycling collection on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25. Regular Wednesday collection will be on Thursday; regular Thursday collection will be on Friday; regular Friday collection will be on Saturday.

Trash and recycling collection will not be collected on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1. Regular Wednesday collection will be on Thursday; regular Thursday collection will be on Friday; regular Friday collection will be on Saturday. Please place your trash and recycling containers 4 feet apart at the curb by 5:30 a.m. on that day.

Transfer Stations: The 27th Avenue and North Gateway Transfer Stations will close at noon on Dec. 24, and will be closed all day on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Public Transit: On Dec. 24, buses, Dial-a-Ride and light rail operate on a normal schedule. On Dec. 25, buses will operate on a Sunday schedule and rail on a 24-minute schedule. Customer Service will be open Dec. 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed Dec. 25.

On Dec. 31, buses will operate on a normal schedule and light rail on a 24-minute schedule. On New Year’s Eve, free rides on all bus, rail, paratransit and Dial-a-Ride start at 7 p.m. through the end of the service day. Parking Meters: All parking meters are enforced 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, including weekends and holidays.

From one-of-a-kind dining experiences to local favorites, the list highlights top restaurants across the country based on verified reviews submitted by diners. The annual list comes off the heels of OpenTable’s recent year end dining report, a retrospective look back at this year’s most popular dining trends.

OpenTable’s list of the Top 100 Restaurants for 2019 in the U.S. is generated from diner reviews collected between October 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019. All restaurants that have been part of the OpenTable network for at least the last 12 consecutive months with a minimum overall rating and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to an overall score generated by unique data points, such as overall diner rating, user klout, total number of reviews and regional overall rating.

Tip # 1 – Pick-up or drop-off travelers at the 44th St. PHX Sky Train® Station to avoid airport roadway traffic and terminal curbside congestion.
The 44th St. PHX Sky Train® Station is centrally located on the southwest corner of 44th and Washington streets and can easily be reached from highways, major streets and the Valley Metro Rail. City of Phoenix offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Here’s how city services are affected:

Solid Waste: Trash collection for Thursday, November 28, will be moved to Friday, November 29, and Friday’s collection will be moved to Saturday, November 30. Please place your trash and recycling containers 4 feet apart at the curb by 5:30 a.m. on those days.

Transfer Stations: The 27th Avenue and North Gateway Transfer Stations will be closed.

Transit: Phoenix buses, Dial-a-Ride and Valley Metro light rail will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, Phoenix buses, Dial-a-Ride, and Valley Metro light rail will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Express and RAPID routes will not operate Thursday or Friday.
