Tuition rises for some Arizona Universities students, but remains affordable at the Maricopa Community CollegesTEMPE, ARIZ. (PRWEB) MARCH 25, 2019 Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona announced on Friday their proposed tuition rates for the 2019/20 school year. Due to increased rates for resident and nonresident undergraduate students, new incoming students may see tuition costing them more. This is not the case for the Maricopa Community Colleges. Not only are their prices staying flat, but they’ve actually decreased since last year. With tuition at just $85 per credit, approximately $2,500 a year for full-time, in-state students, community college learners remain financially savvy in paying only a fourth of what their peers spend at local universities. “We recognize that our students are investing in their future success when they choose to study and advance at a Maricopa Community College,” said Matt Hasson, the Maricopa County Community College District Communications Director. “We have created affordable and accessible education, so that our students, many of whom are lower socioeconomic status, working and have families, can pursue a degree and have equal opportunities in the region’s workforce.” For students looking to transfer to a university, they can be rest assured that performance statistics are on their side. Community college students who transfer to four-year schools perform as well as or even better than their peers who come directly from high school. They are also more likely to graduate from a university than students that enroll directly in a university from high school. The Maricopa Community Colleges are making a difference in the lives of students, offering them a high return on their investment. To learn more about the Maricopa Community Colleges, please visit their website. ### About the Maricopa Community Colleges The Maricopa County Community College District includes ten regionally-accredited colleges – Chandler-Gilbert, Estrella Mountain, GateWay, Glendale, Mesa, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Rio Salado, Scottsdale, and South Mountain – and the Maricopa Corporate College, serving more than 200,000 students with two-year degrees, certificates, and university transfer programs.
