ECNL, the Nation’s Premier Youth Soccer League, Launches 11th Season With ‘More Than a League’ Programming to Raise the Game for All Players

RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — The nation’s leading development league for youth soccer, the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), today celebrates its 11th season of girls competition and third season of boys competition with the addition of new programs designed to enhance the player experience, share resources and reach into communities and homes across the country.

Nation’s premier youth soccer league launches 11th season with “More Than A League” programing to raise the game for all players.
Nation’s premier youth soccer league launches 11th season with “More Than A League” programing to raise the game for all players.
Since its inception in 2009, ECNL Girls has provided the elite development platform for more than 50,000 of the nation’s top female soccer players, achieved a college attendance rate of 99%, produced more collegiate players than any other youth league with approximately 90% of ECNL female players moving on to college soccer careers, and proudly counts nearly 25% of the women on the recent 2019 World Cup roster as ECNL alumni. Founded in 2017, ECNL Boys has rapidly gained prominence and recognition for top-level male competition, now including 90 clubs with the addition of the new Northwest conference this year and players being called into youth national teams by multiple countries around the globe.

“From the beginning, the mission of the ECNL has been to Raise The Game. When looking at the success of our players at the collegiate level, on the world stage, and in all kinds of careers, it’s clear that the ECNL is helping do that and much more for youth players,” said Christian Lavers, President, ECNL. “As we launch into our next decade, we have a renewed purpose to be more than a league. We plan to continue to help develop the country’s best youth players but also to lead by sharing resources and expanding our impact in more communities and with more players who aspire to achieve.”

With both its male and female competition, the ECNL includes clubs and teams from more than 30 states across the country and will field more than 20,000 players between the ages of 12-19 years old during the 2019-2020 season. These players are among the nation’s top 1% of youth soccer players.

Now, in recognition that more than 10 million people in the U.S. play soccer, with one in three households having a soccer player and the popularity of the sport tripling in the last decade, the ECNL is embracing its role as a leader in both elevating the game for the elite ECNL players and also leading the way in supporting the needs and development of all players.

The ECNL will roll out a series of More Than A League programs to support players in the ECNL and in communities across the country. Under the banners of Leaders Play Here for the girls and Always Be More for the boys, the ECNL will introduce new offerings throughout the season:

Leaders Play Here

ECNL National Selection Games: A prestigious selection of 36 girls from across the country will comprise two teams to compete in spotlight competition at the kick-off of each of the six girls ECNL National Events throughout the season. The first National Selection Game will be held in Phoenix, AZ, on November 8.
ECNL Box: Recognizing that 96% of female CEOs identify as athletes, a unique partnership with Sweat Cosmetics – founded by former professional women’s soccer players – will deliver entrepreneurial and leadership messaging to young women.
“As the world’s top league for the development of female youth soccer players, the ECNL has a history of staying ahead of what’s next to ensure that our programs are leading the way in meeting the needs of top youth female athletes,” said Jen Winnagle, Commissioner, ECNL Girls. “Now, with thousands of ECNL Alumni in the workforce and studies revealing the correlation between athletes and women’s leadership, we are again expanding our offerings.”

Always Be More

ECNL Conference SuperCup: In each of the eight ECNL Boys conferences, the top-performing clubs from the prior season’s club rankings will compete in a first-of-its-kind competition to crown a Conference SuperCup Champion, with each club forming one team comprised of top prospects from U15, U16, U17, and U18 age groups; SuperCup dates to be announced.
ECNL Conference Selection Program (CSP): Top players from each club not qualifying for the SuperCup will participate in the CSP event, to be held in conjunction with the SuperCup, offering additional, high-level scouting opportunities for college and professional coaches.
“In just three seasons, the ECNL Boys is already changing the expectations for what an elite national league for the nation’s top youth male soccer players should look like,” said Jason Kutney, Commissioner, ECNL Boys. “As the love for the game continues to grow in this country and expectations elevate, it is the individuality and competitive grit of this league that will undoubtedly help to inspire more positive change.”

More Than A League programs spanning Leaders Play Here and Always Be More:

ECNL Play This: Creates a path for players to engage, share training lessons and best practices to reinforce creativity in soccer at all levels. ECNL Play This kicks off with an ECNL Playlist on Spotify to help build community among players [listen to the playlist here].
Play It Forward: A community-based program designed to support ECNL players in volunteering to share their skills with local and community-based soccer programs. The ECNL will provide all participating players a certificate of community service for their volunteer time.
ECNL Best College Practices: A series of tips will be rolled out to support all players seeking more information on how to best engage with collegiate coaches and gain their attention.

WorldPix Second Annual “Arizona For Africa,” Gallery Exhibit On Display Through December

Arizona-based charity, WorldPix, free gallery exhibit encourages giving to support world-wide causes.

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. (PRWEB) NOVEMBER 01, 2019

WorldPix is proud to announce its “Arizona For Africa” gallery exhibit will run through December 27, 2018. The exhibit is open to the public and is located in northern Scottsdale at Desert Foothills Lutheran Church.
The free gallery unites talented photographers from around the world with charitable causes in the communities where their photos were taken. Through WorldPix, art and service meet to change lives. You can purchase a print directly from the gallery and learn more about the image and the charitable cause behind it.

Focused on some of the most vulnerable and at-risk populations, WorldPix partners with charities across the world. In South Africa, WorldPix is especially proud to support Khaya Centre. Meaning “home” in the Nguni group of languages, Khaya is dedicated to helping over 700 orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa. This country—still reeling from the effects of apartheid—was also one of the hardest hit by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Today, the World Bank notes that South Africa is still one of the most unequal countries in the world. Khaya Centre provides support for South African children who are most at risk. Beyond basic food and shelter, this life-changing charity also provides access to education, home-based and palliative care, early childhood development, and poverty alleviation programs.

Closer to home, WorldPix also donates proceeds from photographs taken in Arizona. Their partner charities in the state include Sunshine Acres, the Arizona Medical Clinic, and the Chandler I AM Project. All of these charities serve a variety of at-risk populations, but their boundless compassion is the same.

At Sunshine Acres, children who were separated from their parents receive loving, wholesome care. With a mix of enrichment, therapy, and education programs, they help Arizona children thrive.

The Arizona Medical Clinic provides vital preventative and on-going care to Cambodia and Mynamar refugees in the Phoenix Valley. Dr. Linda Som, who along with Dr. B. Andy Le, runs the clinic was once a refugee herself and understands the healthcare challenges refugees face.

The Chandler I AM Project is a local charity that serves at the front-lines of the opioid crisis, which contributed to over 1,689 Arizona deaths in the last year. The Chandler I AM Project provides hope, treatments, resources, and support to those who have been affected by opioid addiction.

Through community involvement, WorldPix aims to support life-changing charities across the world. The “Arizona For Africa” kick-off dinner, that took place on September 22nd, raised close to $50,000 with the donations directly benefiting WorldPix partner charities. During the auction, attendees had opportunity to bid on signed photographic prints, photography workshops, and even safari trips to African countries.

WorldPix is now inviting the public to help by attending the gallery exhibit and purchasing a print to contribute to the causes. As a 501(c)3 charity, all donations are tax deductible.

The “Arizona For Africa” gallery exhibit will be displayed through November 27th at Desert Foothills Lutheran Church at 29305 N. Scottsdale Rd., near the intersection of Scottsdale Rd. and Dixileta.

About WorldPix
At WorldPix, we believe in the power of a photograph to tell a story and inspire action. By supporting WorldPix photographers, you can effect change and bring a powerful work of art into your home. Proceeds from our photographic prints are donated directly to charities in the country where they were taken.

Mercedes-Benz Arrowhead Sprinter is Promoting Its Selection of Maintenance Coupons for the Month of October
Phoenix area drivers can receive discounted maintenance when they take their vehicle to Mercedes-Benz Arrowhead Sprinter his month

PEORIA, ARIZ. (PRWEB) OCTOBER 15, 2019

Vehicle maintenance can get expensive. Between routine maintenance, parts upgrades, and unexpected accidents, it can cost a fortune to upkeep a vehicle. Mercedes-Benz Arrowhead Sprinter is hoping to alleviate maintenance costs for its customers by promoting its selection of maintenance coupons for the month of October.

This month, Mercedes-Benz Arrowhead Sprinter is offering six maintenance coupons that help the owners of new Mercedes-Benz vans. The dealership specializes in Mercedes-Benz vans for businesses including Metris and Sprinter models of cargo, crew and passenger vans. Now through October 31, drivers who purchase a new Mercedes-Benz van from the dealership are eligible to use one of the six maintenance coupons, which give the drivers complimentary Extended Limited Warranties or a complimentary maintenance on a new Mercedes-Benz van.
Businesses who are considering purchasing a new cargo, crew or passenger van are encouraged to get into contact with the dealership’s sales team soon to find what they are looking for. In order to take advantage of the maintenance coupons, drivers must make their purchases before the end of the month, which gives them just three weeks to take advantage of these deals.

The dealership’s inventory and contact information can be found on its website, arrowheadmbsprinter.com. Along with the inventory, drivers can find vehicle research pages to learn more about each Mercedes-Bens van and they can schedule a test drive from the website. To find the dealership’s current maintenance coupons, drivers should select “National Offers” under the “Specials” drop-down menu at the top of the site.

Mattamy Homes, North America’s largest privately-owned homebuilder, has secured a significant property in the west valley of Maricopa County, AZ that will eventually include 333 new homes and be known as Azure Canyon. (CNW Group/Mattamy Homes Limited)
The acquisition is the first of a two-phase deal for a 142-acre piece of property that will comprise 333 new homes across multiple product sizes, including 45′-wide, 55′-wide and 60′-wide single-family homes. Mattamy purchased the first 69 acres from J&A Camelback Property, LLC for $5.8 million, which will include about 180 homesites, with expectations to purchase the second phase in the near future, adding 73 acres and another 153 homesites to the community. Mattamy closed the initial deal on October 3, 2019. Located at the northeast corner of Perryville Road and Camelback Road, part of the original Russell Ranch development, the new Mattamy community will be named Azure Canyon.

“We’re excited to further expand our footprint in the West Valley with a significant community in a vibrant and highly desirable location,” says Harry Lourimore, President of Mattamy’s Phoenix Division. “Azure Canyon is going to meet the evolving needs of local homebuyers, including home affordability, through a large and diverse selection of home designs with flexible and unique options.”

Azure Canyon will feature Mattamy’s distinctive community design and architectural flair as well as commitment to home quality and customer experience. Plans call for a distinctive mix of single- and two-story homes including the highly regarded floorplans from popular communities like WestWing Mountain in Peoria and Palm Valley North in Litchfield Park. New plans are expected to offer optional attached RV garages, a highly sought, yet rare offering in the Valley.

Other Azure Canyon features for residents include more than 31 acres of open space for planned neighborhood parks, a tot lot, shaded ramadas and walking trails. The location offers easy access to Loop 303 and the connecting Interstate 10 and is close to major area employment and ease for commuting to other areas of the Valley, including downtown. There is also a wide variety of nearby retail and dining conveniences and highly rated schools.

Azure Canyon is expected to open for sale in late 2020 with first closings of homes anticipated before year-end 2020. Land development will start late this year.

Phoenix Supports Art Contest for Popular Children’s Book Series

Oct. 1, 2019
Jeremy Jackrabbit, the beloved children’s book character, is back! Jeremy Jackrabbit Travels Safely is the newest title in a series of Jeremy Jackrabbit adventure books, and the latest story highlights the importance of pedestrian safety.

With the support of District 1 Councilwoman Thelda Williams and District 7 Councilman Michael Nowakowski, the City of Phoenix has partnered with local authors, Sasha and Rodney Glassman, to hold an art contest to promote the latest book in the series and showcase the talent of Phoenix-area youth.

“We are thrilled to invite student artists from across the Valley to share their talent and help us tell the story of Jeremy Jackrabbit,” Rodney Glassman said.

Artwork will be selected to illustrate the book that will be published by the Glassman’s in 2020. More than 50,000 copies of the book will be distributed for free to each kindergarten student in Maricopa County.

“Pedestrian safety is a top priority and it is important to constantly educate all who share the road,” Councilwoman Williams said. “Sharing an important message successfully takes strong partnerships; I’m grateful that the Glassman’s have stepped up to this project and that our sponsors and partners are providing support.”

“Jeremy Jackrabbit has been a staple in Phoenix schools for nearly a decade, teaching children the importance of everything from recycling to water conservation,” Councilman Nowakowski said. “Phoenix kids can now help design Jeremy’s next adventure, a cause that is a top priority for myself and the city, road safety.”

Youth artists may enter up to two drawings done in any art medium. Illustrations may be in color or black and white, but may not be larger that 11×17 inches. Colored backgrounds are preferred. Artwork may be submitted at select Phoenix community centers or by mail by Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 at 5 p.m. The text of the book, which should be used by youth as a prompt for their artwork, contest entry form, submission locations and additional information is available at Phoenix.gov/Parks/JeremyJackrabbit.
