Jeanette Bunn Travel To Go President Shares List of Top 3 Farmers Markets in Phoenix
Travel To Go highlights the best places to go for fresh, local products when traveling in Phoenix this fall.
SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 16, 2015 When people travel to Phoenix for the first time, many of them expect to see nothing but desert in every direction. They are usually surprised by the sheer size of the city and the fact that there is farmland surrounding it. Jeanette Bunn of Travel To Go wants to help travelers experience even more of local life in Phoenix. It is with that in mind that she has put out its list of the top three farmers markets in Phoenix. Visitors may not believe it at first, but there is enough produce and other locally made goods here to support not just one, but many farmers markets. 1. Downtown Phoenix Open Air Market: One of the biggest farmers markets in Phoenix, the Downtown Phoenix Open Air Market meets at Phoenix Public Market every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning. Locals crowd in for this one-stop local shopping destination for the bounty of locally grown veggies and locally made cupcakes, breads, chocolates, BBQ sauces, jewelry, clothing, pickles, coffee, tortillas, hummus and much more. Jeanette Bunn says that while many of the vendors do hand out samples, food trucks are also available. 2. Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market: Local farms such as Blue Sky Farms, Maya Farm and McClendon Select offer their goods each Saturday at the Old Town Scottsdale Farmers’ Market. There are offerings here of exotic fruits and veggies, delicious sweets, and fresh breads from the local Arizona Bread Company. Jeanette Bunn shares that this market is a little pricey compared to the others on this list, but visitors will find the quality of the products match the cost. Also, Dogs are allowed at this farmers market, as long as they are on a leash, and some vendors even sell healthy doggy treats. 3. Super Farm Market at Superstition Farms: Visitors will have to make a trek out to Mesa for the Super Farm Market, but Jeanette Bunn, Travel To Go President, shares that it is worth the drive. This market is indoors and held on an actual dairy farm every Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitors can load up on fresh produce, natural grass-fed beef, sustainable seafood, local honey, and fresh baked breads. Because this is a dairy farm, visitors will also find fresh made ice cream, butter and farmers cheese. On top of all that, this market also has a petting zoo.
