Councilman Nowakowski, Police Chief Garcia Host Community Meeting and Movie

Oct. 24, 2012 Councilman Michael Nowakowski hosts a community meeting with Police Chief Daniel Garcia, followed by a “Movie in the Park” Friday, Oct. 26, at Cesar Chavez Park, 7858 S. 35th Ave. The community meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. and will provide residents the opportunity to hear from the Police Chief following this week’s tragic killing of a young man in Laveen. The meeting will be followed by a FREE showing of Casper at 6 p.m. “This week’s killing of a young man in our community was a senseless crime and a loss of a promising life,” said Councilman Nowakowski. “This community meeting and free movie will give families the opportunity to come together and show that this is our community and we are committed to keeping it safe for our families.” Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfort.
