Graffiti Free Phoenix: "Wipe It Out!" Day

WHAT: | The city’s Neighborhood Services Department (NSD) is hosting a Graffiti Free Phoenix: “Wipe It Out!” Day from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 3. More than 3,000 volunteers from different neighborhood, corporate and faith-based organizations will be removing graffiti from various locations throughout the city. Mayor Stanton, Councilmembers Valenzuela, Simplot and Nowakowski, along with Grand Canyon University (GCU) officials will kick off the day at 9 a.m. to briefly thank volunteers organized by neighborhood leaders and GCU. The Mayor and city leaders will then proceed to a location in the surrounding neighborhood to wipe out graffiti along with volunteers. Also, nearly 100 volunteers from the city’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) partners will join the citywide Graffiti Free Phoenix: “Wipe It Out!” effort to remove graffiti in NSP target neighborhoods with move-in ready homes. Locations of these sites in south Phoenix and northeast Phoenix can be provided upon request. |

WHERE: | Grand Canyon University, 3300 W. Camelback Road Media and volunteers may enter at the 32nd Avenue entrance along Camelback Road and follow signage to the “quad,” where the Council will welcome volunteers. Afterwards, they will head to a surrounding neighborhood to wipe out graffiti with volunteers. |
