Silent Sundays

Cyclists, skate boarders, wheelchair users and stroller-riding tots can now call the roads of South and North Mountain Parks their own one Sunday of each month, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. For each monthly Silent Sunday event, the park’s main access roadways are closed to motor vehicles, reserving them for the entire day for non-motorized uses. The event takes place the second Sunday of each month in North Mountain Park, and the fourth Sunday of each month in South Mountain Park (except where noted due to holidays*). 2012 Silent Sunday dates in North Mountain Park are: 1/8, 2/12, 3/11, 4/1, 5/13, 6/10, 7/8, 8/12, 9/9, 10/14, 11/11, 12/9 2012 Silent Sunday dates in South Mountain Park are: 1/22, 2/26, 3/25, 4/22, 5/27, 6/24, 7/22, 8/26, 9/23, 10/28, 11/25, 12/23 Trailhead access sites outside of the park will remain open to vehicles.
