University of Phoenix and ASIS Foundation Award Two Full-Tuition Scholarships to Security Professionals

The University of Phoenix ASIS Foundation scholarship recipients have the opportunity to complete an undergraduate or master’s degree program through University of Phoenix® College of Criminal Justice and Security. Meadows Jr., a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration. With 20 years of military experience behind him and now a security manager, Meadows hopes his bachelor’s degree will help him gain new skills that will build upon the experience he gained in the service. “To me, safety and security are the most important issues in my community and the world around me,” said Meadows Jr. “I recognize the global need for the protection of both people and assets.” Smith, a security professional with more than 14 years in the industry, hopes that after completion of a bachelor’s degree in organizational security and management, he can help develop the industry as technology and security issues continue to evolve and change. “I have chosen a profession where I feel I can affect positive change and be proud of the work I do,” Smith said. “Partnering with the ASIS Foundation to offer two full-tuition scholarships is an exciting opportunity for the College of Criminal Justice and Security,” said James Ness , dean of University of Phoenix College of Criminal Justice and Security. “Like ASIS, we believe in the safety and security of our communities and it is our goal to provide access to education for our criminal justice and security leaders as they work to protect our community’s infrastructure.” ASIS is committed to the success of security professionals and their overall growth in the field.
