Final, Unofficial Results for Council Election

Theo nguồn tin trên mạng của phoenix.gov Aug. 30, 2013 The vote totals for the 2013 City Council Election are in, with 78,547 ballots tabulated. Of the 78,547 ballots cast, 74,343 were early ballots. The voter turnout for this election was 23.43 percent. Below are the updated, final unofficial results: Council District 2: Virgel Cain – 4,640 (24 percent); Jim Waring – 14,690 (76 percent). Council District 4: Jeffrey Brown – 249 (2 percent); Dan Carroll – 693 (5.57 percent); Scott Fistler – 316 (2.54 percent); Austin Head – 411 (3.30 percent); Justin Johnson – 4,196 (33.71 percent); David Lujan – 2,551 (20.50 percent); Laura Pastor – 4,030 (32.38 percent). Council District 6: Sal DiCiccio – 17,892 (54.20 percent); Karlene Keogh Parks – 15,120 (45.80 percent). Council District 8: Kate Gallego – 6,207 (47.07 percent); Carolyn T. Lowery – 385 (2.92 percent); Lawrence A. Robinson – 2,140 (16.23 percent); Luis F. Rodriguez – 1,573 (11.93 percent); Warren Stewart – 2,882 (21.85 percent). To be elected, a candidate must receive a majority of the votes cast for the office, which is 50 percent of the votes, plus one. Based on these results, there will be two runoff races scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5: District 4 – Justin Johnson and Laura Pastor District 8 – Kate Gallego and Warren Stewart To participate in the November runoff election, Phoenix residents have until Monday, Oct. 7, to register to vote. Voter registration forms are available at most libraries and government facilities, including the lobby of Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St., or at the City Clerk Department on the 15th floor. Registration forms also are available from the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office’s website. Residents also can register online at servicearizona.com or request a voter registration form by calling the Maricopa County Elections Department at 602-506-1511. The City Council is scheduled to canvass the vote totals during its Formal session at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, after which the results become official. The incumbents and newly elected Council members in Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 will be sworn in during the inauguration ceremony scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.
