Need help understanding how Facebook works? The city of Phoenix Public Information Office and Information Security and Privacy Office are hosting a free workshop on social media and online privacy and security from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave., fourth floor lecture room. This workshop will guide you through social media basics for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (one hour and 30 minutes) and provide you with information you need to protect you and your family online (30 minutes). Social media is constantly changing and can be a valuable tool to communicate and share timely information about your community. It’s also important to understand the risks that exist when you share information about yourself online. Bring your laptop, tablet or smartphone and learn the basics and more about communicating through social media.
