Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) March 13, 2014
The AAA Five Diamond Phoenician, W Scottsdale, Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and The Westin Phoenix Downtown have teamed up with Phoenix Art Museum to roll out the red carpet for visitors to the only West Coast showing of Hollywood Costume, March 26-July 6, 2014. Throughout the length of the exhibition, out-of-town guests and local staycationers can purchase tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime event and save 10 percent on hotel stays at any of the four above mentioned Starwood properties in the greater Phoenix area.
Organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Hollywood Costume explores costume design as a key component of cinema storytelling. Showcasing more than 100 of the world’s most iconic costumes from a century of filmmaking, the exhibition will feature many items that have never left private and archival collections in California, as well as those that have never been publicly displayed or seen beyond the secure walls of the studio archives. From the clothes worn by unforgettable characters in My Fair Lady and The Wizard of Oz; to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and The Dark Knight Rises, the special exhibition captures the magic of motion pictures for all ages.
“We are proud to serve as a sponsor of Hollywood Costume,” said Starwood Area Managing Director Mark Vinciguerra. “Through our four diverse Arizona hotel offerings — the signature urban styles of the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel and The Westin Phoenix Downtown, the chic energy of W Scottsdale and the contemporary resort luxury of The Phoenician — we look forward to providing museum visitors with personalized, memorable guest experiences that reach beyond expectation.”
For information and reservations at any of the four Starwood properties, please visit http://www.starwoodpromos.com/phoenixartmuseum. Admission to Hollywood Costume is $20 for adults and $10 for children 6-17 years of age. Kids under age 6 are admitted free. To purchase tickets, please visit http://www.phxart.org or call (602) 257-1222.
“It is an honor for Phoenix Art Museum to present Hollywood Costume,” said James K. Ballinger, the Museum’s Sybil Harrington Director. “We are delighted the Starwood properties have come on board as a sponsor and believe this international exhibition will be of interest to both local Phoenicians as well as out-of-town travelers.”
