Show Me the Money: Free Grant Writing Workshop

July 30, 2014 ​Know of a great project for your neighborhood, but aren’t sure from where the money is going to come from? Interested in applying for a grant, but aren’t sure where or how to start? The city’s Neighborhood Services Department is hosting a free grant writing workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 16, at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave., Lecture Room, fourth floor. Participants will explore the fundamentals of the process and learn the “who, what, where and how” of grant writing. The class is open to all Phoenix residents. Registration is required. July 28, 2014 Registration for the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department’s fall 2014 classes and sports programs opens this Saturday, Aug. 2 at 10:30 a.m. Classes are a fun way to get active and develop new skills and boast affordable prices, experienced instructors and convenient times and locations. The city’s “Phoenix Plays” youth sports programs are a fun introduction to semi-competitive team play in which everyone plays. The full fall schedule is now viewable online and registration will be available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the Classes and Programs link at phoenix.gov/parks. When fall registration opens, residents can choose from hundreds of classes for all ages. Parents can register their kids for everything from youth sports to fine and performing arts to dance to music lessons. Adults can choose from an equally wide range of classes whether they’re looking to get active and fit or just learn a new skill or polish up an existing one. In addition to online registration, participants can register at any department community or recreation center during normal operating hours.
