Phoenix Public Library Celebrates Saguaro's 50th Anniversary

Aug. 26, 2014 Saguaro Library, located at 2808 N. 46th St., celebrates its 50th anniversary on Sat., Sept. 6. The library will host a variety of music and entertainment events throughout the day: “A Musical Trip Through the Americas” 11 a.m. – noon Experience the diverse music and cultures of Latin America in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Welcome and Cake Cutting Noon – 1 p.m. with Councilwoman Kate Gallego and City Librarian Rita Hamilton Face Painting and Art Activities in the Children’s Room 1 – 3 p.m. “The Beatles – A Musical Revolution” 2 – 3 p.m. Professional musician, Dulais Rhys, PhD will lead an interactive presentation on the music and history of The Beatles in celebration of the 50th anniversary of their arrival to America.
