May 20, 2015 ​Phoenix Convention Center is excited to welcome Phoenix Comicon for the sixth consecutive year. The 12th annual signature pop culture event of the Southwest is expected to attract more than the 77,818 people who attended last year. From May 28-31 attendees will enjoy comic-book themed activities and events throughout the entire Convention Center campus. Due to the large number of attendees for this event, it is important for visitors to know the following before their visit to the Phoenix Convention Center: Plan ahead by registering online and taking alternative transportation including the Valley Metro Rail, city buses, pedicabs, Green cabs or carpooling when possible Parking is available in the Convention Center North, West and East garages, visit phoenixconventioncenter.com/parking to see rates and garage locations Third Street will be closed from Washington to Monroe streets beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 28, to midnight Sunday, May 31 Registration/Membership packet pick up is in the North Building, Rooms 120 A-C, the building entrance is on Monroe between Third and Fifth streets Costume weapons must be peace bonded (tagged) before entering the building The parking pull-ins are available for ADA drop off locations This event encompasses three floors and priority use of elevators is for ADA visitors There will be a series of outdoor activities on Third Street, including performances on the main stage and a disc jockey and food trucks for attendees’ enjoyment. The Downtown Phoenix Ambassadors will be available to distribute water to event attendees as needed. This year, all Convention Center food outlets will boast a comic book theme. The Bat Cave Café, Empire Eats, Wayne Manor and other outlets will make their debut serving delicious food. The Phoenix Convention Center is an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant facility, and welcomes guests with special needs or service animals. Our facility offers accessible parking and entrances, wheelchair ramps, multiple elevators, automatic doors and accessible restroom facilities.
