Return to News Labor Day Holiday Notice Sep. 3, 2015 City of Phoenix offices will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Here’s how city services are affected: Solid Waste: Trash and recycling will be collected as usual. There will be no change in collection day. Please place your trash and recycling containers at the curb by 5:30 a.m. Transit: Phoenix buses, Dial-a-Ride, and Valley Metro Light Rail will operate on Sunday schedules. Express and RAPID routes will not operate. Transfer Stations: The 27th Avenue and North Gateway Transfer Stations will be closed. Library: All Phoenix Public Library locations will be closed.
