Veterans Day Holiday Notice Nov. 9, 2015 City of Phoenix offices will be closed Wednesday, November 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Here’s how city services are affected: Solid Waste: Trash and recycling will be collected as usual. There will be no change in collection day. Please place your trash and recycling containers 4 feet apart at the curb by 5:30 a.m. Transit: Phoenix buses, Dial-a-Ride, and Valley Metro Light Rail will operate on Sunday schedules. Express and RAPID routes will not operate. Transfer Stations: The 27th Avenue and North Gateway Transfer Stations will be closed. Library: All Phoenix library locations will be closed.
