Mind of a Champion Camp Sponsored by Outside the Game and Africa Children's Hope Foundation Helps Student Athletes with More than Just Physical Conditioning
Theo nguồn tin trên trang mạng của prweb.com PHOENIX, ARIZ (PRWEB) NOVEMBER 23, 2015 World Champion track athlete Arnold Payne knows all too well the stresses that student athletes face as they seek to fulfill their goals both on the field, court or track, as well as in their personal lives and in school. That’s why Outside the Game, LLC and Payne’s nonprofit, Africa Children’s Hope Foundation have partnered together to offer a weekend camp in January that promises to help aspiring high school student athletes sharpen their bodies and minds. “It’s a feeling only serious athletes understand,” said Payne. “The pressure to excel both in and out of the game can be completely overwhelming and often inhibits great athletes from reaching their full potential.” “Mind of a Champion Camp” will kick off on Saturday January 9, 2016 with its “Be Mindful” Reception. Students and parents will enjoy a short program titled “Training Your Mind to be a Champion” before being offered the once in a lifetime opportunity to meet one on one, mingle and learn from professional and Olympic athletes at a private, rooftop reception. Athletes available for one on one discussions throughout the events include Arnold Payne, Steve Mesler, Dwight Phillips, Tim Harden, Sandrine Nzeukou, Cornelius Brown, Dr. Paul Wallace, and Damon Mclean, and Carolyn Moos. Day two’s workshop will offer students, their parents and coaches the chance to learn critical mental preparedness and coping strategies as they move into athletics in college and beyond. Certified Sports Life Coaches, former Olympians and professional athletes will lead the all day camp to ensure whether on or off the field, at practice or at home, athletes have the support they need both mentally and physically to stay healthy and succeed. “It’s important that we reach athletes early in their careers to ensure they are prepared both mentally and physically for what the future holds, and I believe this workshop is a solid first step in getting them where they need to be,” said Payne. Both events will take place at Ability360 Sports and Fitness Center located in Phoenix, AZ.
