Updated 3/20 about Statement on March 17, 2017March 17, 2017 City Clerk Releases Final Unofficial Results of District 3 Council Member Runoff Election The Phoenix City Clerk Department has released final unofficial results for the District 3 Councilmember Runoff Election. A total of 22,905 ballots were cast in the election, which represents 22.72 percent of registered District 3 voters. Christopher M. DeRose: 10,481 votes (45.87 percent) Debra Stark: 12,368 votes (54.13 percent) These results include all ballots cast in the election. The Phoenix City Council is scheduled to canvass the votes during its Formal meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, after which the results will become official. Residents also can get election results online at phoenix.gov and via social media on Twitter @PHXElections and by searching the #PHXElections hashtag. March 15, 2017 As of 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, the unofficial results from the Phoenix City Clerk Department for the District 3 Councilmember Runoff Electionare: Christopher M. DeRose: 10,038 votes (46.01 percent) Debra Stark: 11,778 votes (53.99 percent) The 9 p.m. unofficial results include early ballots received by Friday, March 10, and ballots cast at all voting center locations on Saturday, March 11, Monday, March 13 and Election Day, Tuesday, March 14. This is the final update on Election Day. On Wednesday and Thursday, the City Clerk Department will continue to process early ballots and provisional ballots received on Saturday, March 11, Monday, March 13 and Tuesday, March 14. There are approximately 1,000 additional ballots to be processed and counted. The next tabulation update will be on Friday, March 17 and will include additional early ballots and provisional ballots. The results are canvassed at a Formal Phoenix City Council Meeting between eight and 15 days after the election, at which time the results are adopted as official.
