Hảng Điện Thoại AT&T Mở Mạng 4G LTE Trong Thành Phố Phoenix

Theo nguồn tin của hảng điện thoại AT&T AT&T 4G LTE Expands in Phoenix More customers to benefit from ultra-fast mobile Internet on the latest LTE devices Phoenix , Arizona, December 18, 2012

http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=23623&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=35840&mapcode=mk-att-wireless-networks|wireless

AT&T* has expanded its 4G LTE network in Phoenix, bringing more customers the latest generation of wireless network technology. AT&T launched 4G LTE in Phoenix on January 5, 2012, and the expanded coverage is part of its ongoing rollout across the market. AT&T 4G LTE coverage now includes parts of Chandler, Gilbert and Queen Creek. Watch here to see several of the benefits AT&T 4G LTE provides, including: Faster speeds. LTE technology is capable of delivering mobile Internet speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G. Customers can stream, download, upload and game faster than ever before. Cool new devices. AT&T offers several LTE-compatible devices, including new AT&T 4G LTE smartphones and tablets, such as the Sony Xperia™ TL, LG Optimus G™, Samsung Galaxy S III, Motorola ATRIX™ HD, HTC One™ X, Nokia Lumia 920, Samsung Galaxy Note™ II, HTC One™ X+, Samsung ATIV smart PC and ASUS VivoTab™ RT. Faster response time. LTE technology offers lower latency, or the processing time it takes to move data through a network, such as how long it takes to start downloading a webpage or file once you’ve sent the request. Lower latency helps to improve services like mobile gaming, two-way video calling and telemedicine. More efficient use of spectrum. Wireless spectrum is a finite resource, and LTE uses spectrum more efficiently than other technologies, creating more space to carry data traffic and services and to deliver a better network experience. “We’ve seen positive response from customers on our 4G LTE launch, and as today’s expansion shows, we’re continuing our rollout of fast 4G LTE speeds to more areas of Phoenix,” said Jerry Fuentes, president of AT&T Arizona and New Mexico. “Consumers are asking for more from the technology they use in their daily lives, and we are investing to meet and exceed their needs.” AT&T invested more than $500 million in its Arizona wireless and wireline networks from 2009 through 2011 with a focus on improving the company’s mobile Internet coverage and overall performance of its networks. AT&T’s 4G Network AT&T’s innovation and investment has resulted in the nation’s largest 4G network, covering more than 285 million people with ultra-fast speeds and a more consistent user experience. That’s coverage in 3,000 more 4G cities and towns than Verizon.** Our 4G LTE network delivered faster average download speeds than any of our competitors in PCWorld’s most recent 13-market speed tests. AT&T’s 4G LTE network delivers speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G***, as well as multiple innovations that optimize the network for performance. Our network’s radio components are placed close to the antenna at most cell sites, instead of inside the base station, which helps minimize power loss between the base station and antenna and, in turn, improves the performance of our 4G LTE network. The network also is designed with its core elements distributed across the country, which helps reduce latency, or the delay when using the Internet, because your request isn’t traveling as far. Even as AT&T continues to expand its 4G LTE coverage, customers can get 4G speeds outside of 4G LTE areas on our 4G HSPA+ network, unlike competitors, where smartphone customers fall back to slower 3G technologies when outside of LTE coverage. AT&T’s focus to deliver the best possible mobile Internet experience goes beyond 4G to embrace additional connection technologies. AT&T operates the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network**** including more than 31,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots at popular restaurants, hotels, bookstores and retailers across the country. Most AT&T smartphone customers get access to our entire national Wi-Fi network at no additional cost, and Wi-Fi usage doesn’t count against customers’ monthly wireless data plans. AT&T also is a leading developer of Distributed Antenna Systems, which utilize multiple small antennas to maximize coverage and speed within stadiums, convention centers, office buildings, hotels and other areas where traditional coverage methods are challenging. Over the past five years, AT&T invested more than $115 billion into operations and into acquiring spectrum and other assets that have enhanced our wireless and wired networks. Since 2007, AT&T has invested more capital into the U.S. economy than any other public company. In a July 2012 report, the Progressive Policy Institute ranked AT&T No. 1 on its list of U.S. “Investment Heroes.” *AT&T products and services are provided or offered by subsidiaries and affiliates of AT&T Inc. under the AT&T brand and not by AT&T Inc. **4G speeds not available everywhere. Sky Harbor Airport Offers Early Bag Check, Holiday Parking Coupon & Travel Tips

Theo nguồn tin của trang mạng thành phố phoenix.gov Dec. 17, 2012 Early Bag Check Just in time for the holidays, Sky Harbor introduces Early Bag Check, now available for travelers flying Southwest Airlines or US Airways and parking at the East Economy lot. Travelers can check their bags before they park and board the PHX Airport Shuttle to the terminal. There is no additional cost for this service, though airline bag fees still apply. This service will also be available at the 44th Street and Washington PHX Sky Train™ station when it opens in early 2013. Discount Parking Coupon A parking coupon is available for those planning to park in the Airport terminals. The coupon is valid for 40% off the terminal garage rate December 19 – January 7, 2013. The coupon, which can be downloaded and printed from skyharbor.com or shown on a mobile device, allows travelers to park in the terminal garage for just $15 per day, compared to the usual rate of $25. This means no waiting for buses – just drive to your terminal, park, and walk directly to the ticket counter or security checkpoint. Customers can stay past January 7, however, the discount is only valid December 19 – January 7, 2013. The coupon is not valid for the Terminal 2 Economy spaces. The TSA encourages travelers not to wrap their gifts when passing through security, so Sky Harbor is once again offering free gift wrapping behind security in Terminal 4. Any donations collected will go to United Way. A variety of Airport shops are also offering holiday specials. Travelers can pick up gifts on their way out of town such as holiday tamales or other unique Arizona items. Visit skyharbor.com for more information. Travel Tips The Airport will be busy this holiday season. Be sure to arrive two hours before your flight departs, especially if you are parking in economy areas or checking bags. This also allows for possible traffic delays on your way to the airport. For updated information on parking availability, visit skyharbor.com/FindASpot on your desktop computer or visit skyharbor.com on a mobile device. Sky Harbor has a 24-hour parking hotline: 602-273-4545. If you park in Economy parking, look for a sign at the bus stop and scan the QR Code with your smartphone to be sent a reminder of where you parked. Liquids and gels must be in 3 oz containers or less, packed in a clear, zip-top bag to pass through security. Larger quantities of medically necessary liquids are allowed only at the discretion of TSA screeners. Food items such as pies and cakes are permitted, but may require further inspection. If travelers are not sure if a food item is considered a liquid or gel, it is best to pack the item in checked baggage or ship it to a destination in advance. For questions about security screening, visit tsa.gov or contact the TSA at: 866-289-9673 or TSA-ContactCenter@dhs.gov. Use the free cell phone lots (one located on the East side of the Airport and one located on the West side) to wait for arriving passengers and avoid circling the terminals. If you’re picking up friends or family at Terminal 4, consider parking and meeting them at the new Starbucks in baggage claim. Media Contact: Sky Harbor Public Information Office 602-273-3300

America's First Monument Of The Bill Of Rights Set To Dedicate On Bill Of Rights Day, December 15, 2012

Theo nguồn tin của MyBillofRights.org qua trang mạng PRNewswire PHOENIX, Dec. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — America’s first monument of the Bill of Rights will be dedicated at 10 AM on December 15, 2012 at Wesley Bolin Plaza in Phoenix, Arizona directly across from the Arizona Capitol complex. Designated “Bill of Rights Day” by Franklin Roosevelt in 1941, this year the date marks the 221st anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights. Arizona Governor Janice K. Brewer , Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton , and Congress Member-elect Kyrsten Sinema , the monument’s initial sponsor when she served in the Arizona Legislature, will be on hand to accept the new monument on behalf of the people of Arizona and the City of Phoenix. The project was spearheaded by MyBillofRights.org, a nonpartisan nonprofit founded by writer/comedian Chris Bliss . “The Bill of Rights is the most powerful and successful assertion of individual rights and liberties ever written; one of history’s most important and influential documents,” says Bliss. “And yet it’s barely taught in our schools any more, and nowhere to be found in our public square. Until now, that is.” The monument was designed and sculpted by Joseph Kincannon of Kincannon Studios in Austin, Texas, long regarded as one of the country’s leading stone artisans. The design consists of a sequence of ten individual limestone monoliths, 7′- 8 1/2′ tall, arrayed across the crest of an arcing hillside, facing the Capitol. (www.kincannonstudios.com) The monument’s $400,000 budget was raised privately, with Newman’s Own Foundation providing initial seed money. Bliss’s comedy brethren then joined in, raising over $125,000 via an all-star comedy concert at Phoenix Symphony Hall this past May, headlined by Lewis Black , and featuring comedy legends Tommy Smothers and Dick Gregory ; along with Steven Wright , Bill Engvall , Kathleen Madigan , Bobcat Goldthwait and Father Guido Sarducci . Final phase funding was completed with leadership gifts from Arizona’s business and legal communities, along with grants from the Rodel Foundation of Arizona, The Herberger Foundation, The Stardust Foundation, and the Arizona Community Foundation, and over 1000 small contributors in 43 states. Major contributions also came from The Arizona Cardinals Football Club, and the Arizona Diamondbacks. A full list of major donors is available upon request.
