Dignity Health Foundation and Arizona Ballroom Champions Celebrate Success of “Dancing for Stroke” Fundraiser

Theo nguồn tin trên trang mạng của prweb.com CHANDLER, AZ (PRWEB) NOVEMBER 20, 2015 Arizona Ballroom Champions along with Dignity Health Foundation are celebrating the success of this year’s “Dancing for Stroke” fundraiser. The event took place on October 3, 2015 at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort in Chandler, AZ. The evening was full of inspirational stories and entertaining dance routines that physicians, nurses and even stroke survivors trained for. A highlight of the evening was a dance routine in which Shawn Nerdahl, instructor and co-owner of Arizona Ballroom Champions, took the dance floor with stroke survivors he had been teaching, it was moving and inspirational for everyone in attendance. The money raised during the event this year will fund therapy programs and give 50 stroke survivors and their caretakers the chance to attend the Stroke Camp in 2016. This camp gives them the tools to help them take control of their life once again. “This event was a success because we were able to show that even after having a stroke a survivor can have hope and with the right support the survivor and their family can find joy,” said Rex Albright with Dignity Health Foundation. Plans are already underway for next year’s “Dancing for Stroke” event. The event is scheduled for October 1st and will be held once again at Wild Horse Pass. Along with the help from the folks at Arizona Ballroom Champions, Albright is certain that next year’s event will be equally successful. “Not only will our fine doctors and nurses be showing off their dance skills, but we plan on having our East Valley Stroke Survivors dance group participate once again.” Albright went on to say, “Their moving dance number shows people that not only can you survive a stroke, but there is hope in regaining the strength and mobility to move forward in your life.” Arizona Ballroom Champions was not only proud to be a part of this event, but they are excited to be a part of next year’s event as well. Founders, Shawn Nerdahl and John Holzworth, will once again loan their talented team of professionals to this competition. “It was so great to not only teach these talented professionals a skill they never knew they had, but to do so while helping a cause like this makes it that much better,” says Shawn Nerdahl. “Not only are we excited to share our passion for dance, but inspire others while doing so,” interjects John Holzworth. About Arizona Ballroom Champions Arizona Ballroom Champions (ABC) began with five friends sharing a common dream to open a ballroom dance studio. Theo nguồn tin trên trang mạng của prweb.com PHOENIX, Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Touring the country performing music from her latest album, filming a reality show and actively participating in various charity events doesn’t stop Kellie Pickler from staying active and eating healthy. The secret to her fitness success is teaming up with friends, getting outside and including natural protein in her diet. Pickler chooses Rockin’ Refuel as her go-to protein drink for its high quality ingredients, and great taste. To challenge herself to try a new, fun workout, she recently partnered with Rockin’ Refuel to compete in the Warrior Dash muddy obstacle race outside of Nashville. Kellie, husband songwriter/producer Kyle Jacobs and nine of their friends formed “Team Kellie” and joined more than 4,000 racers to take on a 5k extreme obstacle course that included crawling through a mud pit, ducking under barbed wire and scaling the 14-foot Warrior Wall. Check out the video to see how much fun she had with her team competing in the race. “For me, I like to have fun with my exercise but I also need a challenge to keep myself interested,” said Pickler. “The Warrior Dash was both for me, but, honestly, I really needed my strength to power through some of those obstacles. Training and drinking Rockin’ Refuel Lean Builder helped me prepare and it was a good way to get the protein I needed to ensure I finished.” Her personal favorite Rockin’ Refuel variety is Lean Builder Chocolate; with its great taste, 150 calories, and 20 grams of protein it’s ideal for people who are looking to build and tone lean muscle. Theo nguồn tin trên trang mạng của prnewswire.com PHOENIX, Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Bikers, bike enthusiasts and music lovers gathered at the 4th annual Bob’s Biker Blast on Nov. 7. This year’s event coincided with the grand opening of Parsons’ new Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale. The 150,000 square-foot facility is the largest Harley dealership in the world. This year, Bob Parsons took the stage and pledged that The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation would round out funds raised to make the 4th Annual Bob’s Biker Blast a $1 million event. “Once again, Bob and Renee Parsons went above and beyond for our patients and families, and we’re so grateful for their overwhelming generosity,” said Steve Schnall, Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s senior vice president and chief development officer. “They put their heart and soul into helping others, and this event is an amazing example of so many in our community rallying behind our kids. Behind it all, the Parsonses make it happen; they always go a step further. It’s incredible.” Bob’s Biker Blast celebrates the diversity within motorcycling and the positive impact bikers have on our community. The annual event began with more than 500 riders participating in the “I Ride for PCH” kick-off. Later that evening the Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald performed before a crowd of 10,000. Citing their commitment to philanthropy and community support, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, along with the mayors of Phoenix and Scottsdale, proclaimed Nov. 7, 2015 “Bob and Renee Parsons Day.” The proclamations commemorate the 4th Annual Bob’s Biker Blast and the grand opening of the new Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale. “Bob’s Biker Blast is an epic celebration of motorcycling and the riding community, but it’s also about helping those in need,” said entrepreneur and philanthropist, Bob Parsons. “Renee and I believe that every child deserves access to outstanding medical care, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital provides the absolute best in terms of staff, quality care and pediatric specialties.” Last year’s event raised more than $63,000 before The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation matched the results – times five – bringing the total donation to nearly $380,000.
