July 18, 2014 Valley Metro and the Phoenix Public Transit Department are rolling out new artwork for the region’s transit passes starting at the end of July. The color-coded pass types have been introduced to make identification of fare media easier. Current passes, with a distinctive cactus graphic, will continue to be honored on bus and light rail. All new pass types are expected to be in circulation by the end of 2015. All passes sold online, at retail locations and transit centers will be identified by the color scheme below: Red – Reduced fare for all local bus and light rail pass types (half-price ages 6 – 18, over 65, and people with disabilities; proof of eligibility required for use) Green – Full fare for all local bus and light rail pass types Blue – Full fare for all RAPID™/Express pass types Yellow artwork will be used for all passes printed from ticket vending machines and fareboxes on board buses. More information on Valley Metro pass types and fares is available online via http://www.valleymetro.org/paying_your_fare/fare_options. Contact: Matthew Heil Phone Number: 602-261-8254
