Library Offers Business Workshop Series Beginning Aug. 5

July 25, 2014 Beginning August 5, hive@central – a discovery space for business entrepreneurs – will host a free four-part series of Start-Up Workshops. Workshops will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 – 6 p.m. in English and repeated in Spanish 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. hive@central is located on the second floor of Burton Barr Central Library at 1221 N. Central Ave. Workshop topics include Creating Your Business Plan, Marketing Strategies, Raising Capital from Crowdsourcing, Setting the Right Price and Contract Negotiation. Sessions repeat every 4 weeks; participants can join the program at any time. “These workshops in English and Spanish are a fantastic opportunity for community entrepreneurs to develop their businesses,” said Councilman Daniel Valenzuela. Workshops are facilitated by Edgar R. Olivo, an entrepreneur, business development strategist, and training consultant with over 13 years of leadership and business experience in Arizona. The series is funded by a grant from the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records through the Library Services and Technology Act administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
