Phoenix To Host Weekend Bike Safety Events For Children During March and April

March 2, 2016 The city of Phoenix Fire, Police and Street Transportation departments are teaming up to host a series of bike safety events for children, throughout the weekends of March and April. At these events, staff will distribute helmets to young people, explain bicycle-related traffic laws and conduct car seat safety checks. Several activities will be conducted during each bicycle safety day to allow as many people as possible to obtain this much-needed information. Activities will include community bike rides, car seat checks, bicycle rodeos and obstacle courses to educate young people on safe riding techniques. Parents or guardians are encouraged to attend.
