5 Tips for Successfully Sending Mother’s Day Flowers from Arizona Florist

Arizona Florist provides 5 easy to follow tips for getting the best results from your Mother’s Day flower delivery.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) May 06, 2015

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and the experts at Arizona Florist have some great tips for making this a memorable Mother’s Day for all the special moms in your life. Flowers are more than a temporary gift, they are a welcome surprise that Mom’s will cherish forever. Research shows that 92 percent of women can remember the last time they received flowers, and 89 percent say receiving flowers makes them feel special.

According to the Society of American Florists (SAF), Mother's Day accounts for 25% of the total floral purchases made during the entire year. “Mother’s Day is our busiest floral holiday – even bigger than Valentine’s Day,” said Cheryl Denham, owner of Arizona Florist located in Phoenix Arizona. Cheryl recommends customers follow these tips when planning to send a beautiful arrangement to all of those deserving moms.

1)    Order Early – Ordering your gift early puts you at the beginning of the queue when it comes time to schedule deliveries. So Mom’s order likely will be one of the first to leave the shop on your specified delivery day.
2)    Shop Local – Even if your recipient is in another state, most flower shops have the ability to send flowers anywhere through their network of participating florists. You will still have a local shop owner handling your order and you can always call or stop by your local florist to talk about your order.
3)    Share Details About your Mom – Is she a dog lover? Is she passionate about pink or purple? Does she enjoy a nice, hot cup of tea? These details will help the florist create an arrangement that is unique to her and that Mom is sure to remember for years to come.
4)    Rely on Their Expertise – Most florists have been in business for years and they have seen trends come and go. They keep up on the latest trending blooms & arrangement styles, so your Mom will get a fresh, fashionable arrangement every time.
5)    Provide Detailed Recipient Information – be sure to include a contact phone number of the recipient in case the driver needs to reach out to them. Don’t forget things like apartment numbers, hospital room numbers, or gate codes. This will help insure a successful delivery to your loved one.

Arizona Flower Market Offers a Simple Twist on Do-It-Yourself Mother's Day Flower Arrangement Ideas

DIY floral projects are increasing in popularity and this trend is catching on for family-oriented projects that everyone can help work on together. Mother’s Day is the perfect holiday to create something special for that special mom in your life.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) May 06, 2015

When it comes to flowers, Mother's Day is the ‘Mother’ of all holidays. According to a survey by the National Retail Federation, two-thirds (67.2%) of those celebrating Mother’s Day will buy mom flowers, spending a total of $2.3 billion in 2015. Many consumers will outsource the task to a local florist. However, there is a growing trend of consumers who want to play a larger role in the gift giving process. More consumers are looking for ways to give the gift of flowers while making memories in the process.

At Arizona Flower Market located in Phoenix, Arizona, more consumers are using their artistic side and opting for do-it-yourself, or DIY, flower arrangements. This is a great way to use your creative ability while spending quality time with family members. “We’re seeing a trend of do-it-yourself floral projects that the whole family wants to be a part of,” said Cheryl Denham, owner of Arizona Flower Market in downtown Phoenix. Families can come in and pick up everything they need to create a masterpiece, from charming daisies in burlap-adorned Mason jars, to more elaborate table centerpieces. Our goal is to provide everything needed for just about any floral project a customer has in mind,” said Denham. Arizona Flower Market makes it easy to DIY your Mother’s Day gift and make long-lasting memories mom will cherish.

You don't have to spend a bundle on an impressive florist designed arrangement. Here are some great (and simple) DIY project ideas for Mother’s Day and every day from Arizona Flower Market:

  •     If you are hosting a Mother’s Day brunch or dinner at your house, you can dress up the table with a centerpiece consisting of a bubble bowl (think fish bowl) filled half way with water, then curl a stem of Cymbidium Orchids under water and place a floating candle on top for added dramatic affect.
  •     Give Mom the gift of relaxation by wrapping a new book and incorporate into a wicker basket. Add a bunch of her favorite flowers, such as roses, tulips, or Gerbera daisies, tied with ribbon and attach a note that reads, "Today is your day to relax!" This works equally well with a music CD, DVD, or a bottle of wine.
Here are more suggestions from our friends at the Society of American Florists (SAF):
  •     Breakfast in bed is a treat that every Mom loves. Dads and kids can prepare a special morning for Mom by greeting her with a homemade breakfast in bed, on a tray adorned with blooming fresh flowers.
  •     Present Mom with a vase full of her favorite flowers, or mix several varieties. On each stem tie a "coupon" for a chore that you promise to do for her.

Grand Canyon University Serves Up, Tees Up New Golf And Tennis Management Bachelor's Degree Programs

Sedona Salutations, a series of free yoga classes, offers classes every Saturday for seven weeks.

PHOENIX, May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Grand Canyon University is launching new golf and tennis management undergraduate degree programs this fall to help students extend their passion for the sports into rewarding careers. Designed to fill a niche in the hospitality and recreation industry, Grand Canyon University’s golf and tennis management bachelor’s degree programs are part of GCU’s hospitality management program available through the university’s Colangelo College of Business. “There is a significant demand in the tennis industry for business-savvy professionals with a love of the game, but a shortage of formal training options available,” said Dr. Randy Gibb, dean of the Colangelo College of Business. “Likewise, many golf enthusiasts pursue jobs as teaching professionals, but lack the management skills needed to take their careers even further. Our programs are rooted in rigorous business and management coursework that allow students to marry their love of sports with a viable career.” Both programs will equip students with the business skills necessary to manage tennis and golf operations. Specifically, the tennis management program, the first of its kind among NCAA Division I schools, will be accredited by the United States Professional Tennis Association and will equip students with the skills needed to manage tennis operations, including facility management, merchandising, event planning and introduction to food and beverage management. “Business is a popular degree among tennis players, and there are a lot of them going into the tennis business,” GCU tennis coach Greg Prudhomme said. “There’s a demand in the tennis industry for more qualified professionals, and the reason is that there’s not a lot of formal training available. As a result, most of the people getting hired are former players.” The golf course program, which includes classes in golf course management and operations, sports retail management and sales, marketing and revenue generation in the golf industry, and sports event planning, will teach students how to manage public, private and resort-style courses. As part of their hands-on education, students will play a major role in the operations and management of Maryvale Golf Course, which is currently being renovated by GCU under an agreement with City of Phoenix. Under GCU and student management, the course is expected to reopen to the public this fall and also will serve as the home course of GCU’s men’s and women’s golf teams. Both programs require students to complete a 120-credit curriculum and a minimum of 100 hours of industry experience, with opportunities for internships at tennis and golf courses across the country. In addition to core business courses like accounting, finance and marketing, students will take classes in player development to learn the skills needed to become effective instructors. For more information about GCU’s tennis and golf management programs, visit www.gcu.edu. Parker and Sons Urges Arizonians to Prepare for the Summer

As the scorching Arizona summer approaches, Parker and Sons prepares by hiring forty new technicians

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 30, 2015

As the scorching Arizona summer approaches, Parker and Sons prepares by hiring forty new technicians. Parker and Sons is the number one HVAC service provider in the valley several times over by virtue of Arizona Rankings. The recent influx of employees suggests that they intend to maintain their spot, by assuring that the air conditioning needs of the customers will be serviced promptly during the scorching summer months.

“The recent hires are an effort to protect our customers from the dangers of the desert. Any Arizonian knows that the summer months can be unbearably hot. It’s our duty to make sure that none of our customers are subjected to the scorching heat without a fully functional air conditioning unit,” said Josh Kelly, partner at Parker and Sons.

Indeed, the Arizona summer is notoriously hot. It is not uncommon for temperatures to climb above 115 degrees. What’s more, the lack of moisture in the air, coupled with the intense heat, causes dehydration. In fact, hundreds of people perish every Arizona summer due to an H20 deficiency.

Returning home to a house without a functional AC unit during the Arizona Summer months can be like a walk through Dante’s Inferno. In order to avoid such an unfortunate scenario, there are a few tips that homeowners can adhere to in order to assure functional air-conditioning and a hospitable living environment.

First off, any homeowner can clean their AC unit’s air filter. Dust and other debris accumulates in the filter, and blocks the proper functioning of the unit. Also, the air-conditioning coil is especially prone to damage, and may require regular cleaning. Although air-conditioning maintenance is more than manageable, those who feel uncomfortable should call a licensed professional.

“We find that our customers who regularly acquire AC maintenance are better prepared for the summer months. All our technicians are required to pass rigorous certifications, and uphold the highest level of professionalism,” said Josh Kelly.

Parker and Sons has been servicing the valley for over forty years. What started as a garage and van operation has grown to be one of the largest plumbing and HVAC providers in Arizona. Their 100% customer satisfaction guarantee, and their Trust Certified Team Member Stamp, sets them apart from the competition. No doubt, Parker and Sons will once again be the coolest AC provider in the desert this summer.
