Free Pancakes at IHOP on National Pancake Day

Theo nguồn tin tiếng Anh của IHOP trên trang mạng prweb.com IHOP’s National Pancake Day Benefits Charities, Including Shriners Hospitals for Children A Perfect Opportunity: Have some Free Pancakes and Help our Patients

Tampa, Fla. (PRWEB) February 27, 2014

On Tuesday, March 4, The International House of Pancakes (IHOP) will celebrate National Pancake Day by offering guests a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes*. With every short stack of pancakes served, diners will be invited to make a donation to designated charities, including Shriners Hospitals for Children®. The IHOP restaurants that have chosen Shriners Hospitals for Children as the beneficiary of this event are primarily in Texas, with additional locations in Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Wyoming.

The family-friendly restaurant chain has set an ambitious goal of raising $3 million in this one-day event, which will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition to raising funds, the campaign will raise awareness of Shriners Hospitals for Children, a health care system with 22 locations – founded by the Shriners International fraternity – that provides children with expert pediatric specialty care, regardless of the ability to pay for services. Since the first Shriners Hospital opened in 1922, the health care system has improved the lives of more than 1 million children.

“We appreciate the efforts of IHOP to assist charitable organizations, including Shriners Hospitals for Children, through National Pancake Day,” said Douglas E. Maxwell, president and CEO of Shriners Hospitals for Children. “We are grateful for the opportunity to increase awareness and raise funds for our health care system. We also want to acknowledge the tremendous community support for both our philanthropic efforts and this event.”

Celebrate National Pancake Day on March 4 by visiting your local IHOP restaurant and supporting Shriners Hospitals for Children.

IFL Team Tri-Cities Fever and Kicker Brady Beeson Team Up to Support Kicking For The Dream’s Fight Against Ovarian Cancer in 2014

Theo nguồn tin của Hapari trên trang mạng prweb.com Indoor Football League (IFL) team Tri-Cities Fever, and Fever kicker Brady Beeson, team up to support Kicking For The Dream effort to fight ovarian cancer in 2014, according in Kicking For The Dream President Billy Cundiff.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) February 28, 2014

Indoor Football League (IFL) team Tri-Cities Fever, and Fever kicker Brady Beeson, team up to support Kicking For The Dream effort to fight ovarian cancer in 2014, according in Kicking For The Dream President Billy Cundiff.

“Brady is amazing. We couldn't be more excited about his participation in Kicking For The Dream," says Cundiff. "He is rallying his entire community."

Beeson who signed with the Tri-Cities Fever in 2012 says getting involved with Kicking For The Dream was initially inspired by his mother.

“After speaking with Billy regarding Kicking For The Dream, I knew it was not only something that I wanted to do, but something I needed to do,” says Beeson. “My mother took action in 2007, creating Lily Wellness, a small boutique for women dealing with the chemotherapy process. She inspired me.”

Beeson says he saw Kicking For The Dream as the perfect way for him to take action. He says he knew the Fever would take action with him.

“After jumping on board with Billy Cundiff and Kicking For The Dream, it was a no brainer to put together something special with the Fever," says Beeson. “Teri Carr, the Fever Organization, and the entire Tri-Cities community have shown such great support to us over the years I knew this was the perfect place to do it.”

The respect Beeson feels for his team is certainly returned to him by the team’s owner.

“Brady is a special person that has compassion and empathy for those dealing with cancer,” says Fever owner Teri Carr. "He has taken it a step further by becoming involved in Kicking For The Dream as a way to fund Colleen's Dream Foundation's fight against ovarian cancer. He is very motivated to make a difference for those involved in ovarian cancer research. We are so proud of him and want to help him in is efforts in any way we can.”

“We start our season in February, and the Fever and I will raise money for Kicking For The Dream one kick at a time throughout the 2014 IFL season,” says Beeson. “For every extra point that I make, the Fever will donate $10 and for every field goal they will donate $15."

Beeson says the Fever's sponsors will be making a donation at the end of the season as well.

Beeson says he and the Fever are hoping their fans will join their Kicking For The Dream effort.

“I am hoping our fans, friends and family will donate throughout the season as well,” says Beeson. “They can follow the same kicking format the team and sponsors are, or they can donate whatever they feel comfortable with. Any amount will help!”

Beeson says fans will be able to sign up and support him at Fever's games.

Uunder the direction of Head Coach Adam Shackleford, the Fever has advanced to the IFL Playoffs three of the last four years, and played for the IFL United Bowl Championship in both 2011 and 2012.

ABOUT KICKING FOR THE DREAM:

Billy Cundiff, who is the kicker for the Cleveland Browns, and has been an NFL kicker for over 10 years for teams such as the Cowboys, Saints, Ravens and Redskins, launched Kicking For The Dream in May of 2013, as an effort to support Colleen’s Dream Foundation, a foundation which raises money to support research for the early detection of, and improved treatment for, ovarian cancer.

ABOUT KICKING FOR THE DREAM:

Colleen’s Dream Foundation started in 2012 and supports research for early detection and improved treatment for ovarian cancer.

The story of Colleen’s Dream started in 2007 when Billy Cundiff’s mother-in-law, Colleen Drury, was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer. It was only then that Colleen and her family realized a new world that was filled with invasive surgery, harsh chemotherapy, and lots of uncertainty.

Colleen’s Dream Foundation believes it is important to raise money for research that will lead to reliable early detection testing and improved treatment for ovarian cancer. Because so little is known about ovarian cancer in proportion to other women’s health issues, we have an incredible opportunity for research and education.

Colleen’s Dream is working with some of the top research hospitals and universities that are researching ovarian cancer. By offering seed funding to young investigators, the Foundation funds cutting-edge research by some of the brightest, young minds in the world.

Colleen’s Dream Foundation is a qualified 501 (c) (3) tax exempt non-profit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona.
